Evan Wolfson on The Freedom To Marry

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , ,

As part of P Town’s Summer of Love and Marriage, queerguru gets to talk to the leading gay activist Evan Wolfson known to many simply as ‘the marriage guy’. Wolfson  is the founder and president of Freedom to Marry, a group that became a major driving force same-sex marriage in the United States. He is the visionary who started work on this matter of equality almost four decades ago, and now part of the story  of how he successfully led the fight, is documented in a new film The Freedom to Marry by Eddie Rosenstein

On the eve of the documentary’s digital launch on June 6th 2017, Wolfson talked about how the battle for same-sex marriage maybe over in the US, there are still too many countries around the globe where we still need to heed the fight, plus there is also the question of our community joining the struggle to seize our own country back.

The interview via Facebook was filmed by Roger Walker-Dack for “queerguru reports’ on PTV’s Channel 99.

Moises Serrano talks about “Forbidden” with queerguru

24 year old Moises Serrano is one of those selfless millennials who are determined to make their mark on the world by putting themselves on the line to really make a difference for his community.  Both queer and undocumented, this fearless activist has risked his own security by coming out and being prepared to be counted.  His inspiring story, and that of others in similar situations, is captured so beautifully in this must-see documentary Forbidden : Undocumented & Queer in Rural America which is currently doing the rounds of the Film Festivals, where it has already picked up three awards.

Moises sat down with queerguru  prior to the latest screening of the movie at the OUTshine Festival to explain further about the plight of undocumented Americans, and some of his forthright views were not what we expected.

The interview was filmed by Roger Walker-Dack  in the Bar at Miami Beach’s Hotel Gaythering for P.T.V

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , , ,

It is not often that you get to talk to an out and proud queer Iraqi drag queen / activist / writer / actor / journalist but we did just that.  London based Amrou Al-Kahdi aka Glamrou the founder and star of Denim the drag superstar group dragged himself away from an Anti-Trump Protest outside Houses of Parliament to talk to queerguru about how being true to oneself has now taken on such a greater sense of urgency these days.

This disarmingly charming and very articulate man had a lot to say in this exclusive interview we filmed for PTV.
