Film School Graduate Shai Ben-Dor decided to make a a documentary for his debut feature film. The Long Trail Out is the story of Tim Buchanan an affable 70 year old man who has never moved from the small town of East Aurora, NY, where he was born and bred. He has led a fulfilling simple life as a respected man in his community, but he has always kept a major ingredient of his life a secret until now.
As he enters his 71st year Tim has finally come out as gay and he does so in course of Ben-Dor’s rather compelling film as the two of them undertake some very challenge mountain trails together.
For once queerguru sits down with a filmmaker whose movie is still a ‘work in progress’ and when you watch our interview and also see the film’s trailer you will appreciate why we are so excited about seeing this film completed.
Paddy Quinn the director/co-writer/star of High Low Forty talked to queerguru about his story of two estranged brothers who take a road trip to visit their father and try their hand at reconciliation at the same time.
