Sometimes it can really be annoying when you discover that your friends been watching a TV series for years, that you only discover when you just happen to catch an announcement about the launch of Season 3. And we are not about The Crown. Or even Bridgerton . It’s OUT TV‘s original series X-Rated: NYC which we are informed is out some Beef having beef with each other…. and not in a culinary sense.
The PR release we read said. “This is the (mostly) true story of four adult film performers picked to work together and have their lives taped, to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting… X-rated.” This explosive reality show plays it fast and loose with the word “reality” leaning into its over-the-top drama to take us behind the scenes of some of the adult film industry’s hottest gay stars.
However when we watched the new teaser trailer below , there seemed to be less beefing
and much more bitching.Most of the cast from Season 2 are back. Boomer Banks, Max Konnor, and Joey Mills, but one of their number Dante Colle has deserted them to join X-Rated: LA! Yes you read that right , whilst the networks cannot wait to dump what they label as underperforming family-orientated franchises, they have different standards for sex and sleaze.
The new cast member is porn star Angel Rivera (ie not the Bridal Dress Designer of the same name) may cause trouble as he and Joey have a “turbulent relationship” and frankly now hate each other which will have the producers loving all the bad mouthing and angry shouting.
But the Producers maintain the campy chaos to is keep us entertained, and beneath all the laughs and lube, the series continues to be an unparalleled platform for frank discussions about the gay adult film industry, the good and the bad. This include conversations around queer safe spaces, the reality of gay-for-pay actors, staying relevant in an ever-evolving digital industry, and more. And now they have pomised to add to this list tackle the mistreatment of talent—especially LGBTQ+ talent—in the adult film industry.
X-Rated: NYC Season 3 is set to premiere September 3 on OUTtv—with new episodes dropping every Tuesday—
