November 8th is a red letter day in San Francisco as it marks the opening of The San Francisco Transgender Film Festival (SFTFF), the world’s longest-running transgender film festival. Since 1977 when the Fest was founded by Christopher Lee and Alex Austin, it has been screening films that promote the visibility of transgender and gender variant people and challenge the mainstream media’s negative stereotypes of our communities.
It provides opportunities for transgender and gender variant media artists, helps build community through our film and performance events, and engages audiences in cross-community dialogue.
The schedule has 5 different programs shown on consecutive nights in person at SF’s iconic Roxie Movie Theatre, and then later online. Each separate program, made up of several diverse and innovative shorts is also available to stream online
Program 5 has a selection of 18+ sort movies that include erotic stories of marginalized identities, including BIPOC, trans and GNC folks, fat folks, disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent folks
SF TRANS FILM FEST begins on 11/8 and will end on 11/20 To see the whole program and book tickets https://sftff2023.eventive.org/welcome
