We are feeling quite relieved that Holy Week is over. It may have started on a high for the LGBTQ community with the story about Father Ethan an Episcopalian Priest / Personal Trainer who works out religiously and has a body that many could worship (Read HERE) However it went down hill from there.
A former school teacher from a Christian Academy in Waukegan (??) was arrested and charged with committing several violent crimes against men he met through Grindr. A married man with 4 children was ccharged with three counts of armed robbery and kidnapping with a firearm, plus one count of carjacking, for his alleged involvement in three separate attacks against men on Chicago’s West Side last summer. I.e he held these gay victims against their will and then robbed them at gunpoint.
Then we spotted a
new item on April 1st that we first thought was probably April Fools Day prank as it seemed a tad unreal. Joshua Broome a Christian Preacher was bitching about being misunderstood about his past. As porn star Rocco Reed he was filming up to 25 scenes of gay sex per month and earning more than $1 million in his 7 year career.
Broome aka Reed is now promoting his memoir 7 Lies That Will Ruin Your Life in which he details his deep discontentment with the porn imdustry. He went on Fox Radio talking about how unhappy he was after making 1000 films (!). When he decided to give up, he gave his life to Jesus on Easter Sunday, and started studying at Liberty University in 2018. He married his wife, Hope, in 2016. They have three children.

he told the website Church Leaders.Now the homophobic Broome has his own podcast on which he claims the vast majority of gay porn stars aren’t even attracted to men. Instead, they use chemical enhancers to achieve arousal.
However all this ‘Christian Holy Week‘ news pales in comparison with what went on in Yemen. The Houthi movement, officially known as Ansar Allah, is a Shia Islamist political and military organization which emerged in the 1990s. and are known to persecute LGBTQ+ folks using arbitrary arrest, torture, rape and other forms of sexual violence, threats and harassment.
Nine men were charged with sodomy and were handed death sentences that include crucifixion and stoning, whilst 23 were sent to prison for periods of up to 10 years. Three of these men were also sentenced to public flogging.
