Tab Hunter is coming to town to see me. The 1950’s Hollywood heartthrob, who is still an incredibly handsome man at aged 84, is actually coming to P Town to officially launch the 18th Edition of Provincetown’s International Film Festival. And to see me too. Next Saturday June 4th, he will present a screening of the 1980’s movie Polyester that relaunched his career and introduced him to a whole new generation of fans. The movie was written and directed by a local P Town (& Baltimore) man called John Waters, so its the perfect place to watch it. Later that day it will be followed by last year’s award winning documentary Tab Hunter Confidential, and Tab will be present at both screenings to do Q & A’s.
Click HERE to read our full review of the documentary, and click HERE to see our interview for PTV with Jeffrey Schwarz the writer /director. And keep watching this space ….. and the PTV Channel ….. to see whatever Tab and I end up chatting about next week : we simply cannot wait.
And if that is not enough (!) if you get to go to the Polyester Screening and make eyes at Heidi the Theater Manager, she just might give you one of this wonderful original 1980’s Polyester Odorama Scratch Cards. Make is a big smile though as the numbers are limited and I’m sure not giving mine up.
