Openly gay singer/songwriter Tom Goss draws on his own experience as a one time student at Catholic Seminary for his powerful and beautiful new take on Dusty Springfield’s classic from 1968 ‘The Son of Preacher Man’. In the video Goss tells the story of two gay teens coming to terms with both their sexuality and their feelings for each other, complicated by the fact that one of them is the son of an anti-gay Evangelical Pastor.
It’s a somber tale ……but for once a happy ending …..made even more poignant by the fact that Goss’s own story almost ended up badly when he was the same age and actually attempted suicide.
