Spring has sprung and it is (almost) time to shed some of those heavy winter clothes, or maybe even go one stage further and strip off completely. That’s what the guys at Naked Boys Reading are about to do and the have two new events planned where you brush up on your German (and feminism) and/or get acquainted with the Bard again.
On Thursday April 14th to mark their one-year anniversary of Naked Boys Berlin, the boys will reading a selection of works from the women in their live hand-selected by the one and only Fauxnique, who will also be giving a performance of her renowned one woman show The F Word following the readings. The event is at Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke, Warschauer Str 39. Click HERE for further details.
On Thursday 28 April at Ace Hotel’s Miranda Bar, London Naked Boys Reading are turning the attention to the Bard. They promise “We’ve got all the darling buds and bare bodkins you need to celebrate the Shakespeare Quadricentennial. Sonnets and soliloquies will sound even sweeter as our too too solid flesh struts and frets upon the stage.Other writers cloy the appetites they feed, but Will makes hungry where most he satisfies. So get thee to Shoreditch (where the man himself first trod the boards) for a star-crossed night of quartos, queens and queers featuring texts by Shakespeare and his admirers. Shuffle up against our mortal coils and who knows what dreams may come? Ay, there’s the rub’
