Legendary French shoe designer CHRISTIAN LOUBERTIN opens his (stunning) Parisian home to NOWNESS

In 1971 the Musée des Arts africains et océaniens in Paris was unwittingly the setting for an 8 year old boy having a revelation that would change the course of women’s shoes for ever. There was a a sign forbidding entry in stiletto heels  that captured the attention of the boy and remained imprinted in his memory for decades.  His name was Christian Loubertin ….. and the rest is (shoe) history.

A mere 10 years later he studied design art, while at the same time working at the runway shows of the fashion house of Charles Jourdan.  After which went on a journey and for some time lived in Egypt and India. It wasnt long before he was designing  shoes for both Yves Saint Laurent  and Chanel.

Now at the top of his field the legendary French designer opens his Parisian home he shares with his partner of 25 years  Landscape architect Louis Benech,  to NOWNESS.  With their camera rolling Loubertain discuss his relationship with objects and his personal inspirations and offers a passage into his innermost thoughts.  He details the personal influences that have shaped his style and approach, via the challenges and peaks that have directed his career trajectory.

The end result is  nothing less than STUNNING
