In a recent interview we filmed with drag performer and now candidate for NY City Council, Marti Gould Cummings, she told QUEERGURU that everything about doing drag is a political act. She is now one of several drag queens and other performers who have recorded this message as to why it is so very important that we all exercise our right to VOTE.
Their Campaign DRAG OUT THE VOTE is currently supported by Michelle Visage Marti G Cummings Kim Chi Gia Gun Todrick Hall Nina West Miz Cracker Yvie Oddly Monet X Change Brooke Lynn Hytes Trinity the Tuck. They are planning stage voter registration drives at the drag events and organize drag queen-led get-out-the-vote (GOTV) activities
