Each week queerguru takes a brief look at some of the big things that have made us smile and get a real ‘high five’ aka the ice cream emoji, and at the other end of the scale, those things that have really pissed us off and get a very big thumbs downs aka the famous ‘poop’ emoji.
This week’s include :
Justin Trudeau for being dubbed Prime Minister of Homosexuals : we would vote for him any day
Choreographer Robert Brooks for his wonderfully inspiring video about being HIV positive.
President Barak Obama for marking the 35th anniversary of AIDS with a statement re-affirming that the global community is committed to ending the epidemic by 2030.
Dolly Parton for weighing in on transgender rights and telling CNN that she will pee where she wants to.
Robby Mook for the being the first gay campaign manager for the Presidential Candidate who broke through the glass ceiling herself by being the first potential female President of the US.
Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina for publicly calling on Republicans to un-endorse Donald Trump
The U.S. Government for finally recognized the April 1975 marriage of Richard Adams and Australian native Anthony Sullivan as valid. Their wonderful story was told in the documentary Limited Partnership
#HIVBEATS stunning dance piece choreographed by Ryan Heffington (who choreographed Sia’s award-winning “Chandelier” video), with music by Grammy Award-nominated composer Lucian Piane and narration by Oscar-winner Julianne Moore.
This weeks include:
The father of convicted rapist Brock Turner who compounded the atrocious decision of the Judge who had already let him off with just a six month jail sentence instead of the usual 6 -114 years by then writing it was ‘A steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action’
Donald Trump supporter Jeffrey Lord who spent 20 minutes defending Trump’s nasty racism on CNN. Media Matters calls this “the worst segment of the entire election” and they’re probably right.
Roseanne Barr losing the plot (again) saying she hated Hilary, Bernie and The Pope (!) and is supporting Trump.
