Structured around 13 spoken word poems, each describing a pivotal place in his life, this one man show from Nick Ishmael-Perkins – co-creator, writer and performer reveals truths about being black and gay in the Caribbean, Africa, and clubs at the heart of London.
As he negotiates family dynamics, the African military and the scale of the pyramids, we see a boy become a man, a longing become a home.
An unusual blend of the rhythms of dub poetry, African musical harmonies and European physical theatre, the show asks each of us how we describe our accent and what it has made of us.
