Three More Catholic Priest Hypocrites bite the dust

It’s Sunday, so if our minds have religious thoughts (!) they are never happy ones.  It is after all not the hatred that the Official Church has for homosexuals that make us angry, but the sheer hypocrisy of some of the priests who seem to grow in number all the time.  Here are a few of them that are particularly abhorrent.

Hypocrite No 1: Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill,  the high-ranking general secretary of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops stepped down from his role after The Pillar the official mouthpiece of the church in the United States outed him.

They accused him of using Grindr and hanging out in gay bars and gay bathhouses all backed by evidence gained by tracking his cell phone.  And not just once or twice but on a near-daily basis and even while traveling on assignment for the U.S. bishops’ conference.

Naturally he was allowed to resign whilst Chirch Officials attempted to turn the attention on yo how the evidence was obtained and not on the facts that Burrill had frequently and blatently hypocritically broken every rule the Catholics have about being gay, sex and celibacy.

Hypocrite No 2.  Of course, Burrill is hardly the first Catholic Priest to discover the joys of Grindr.  Only last year Monsignor Joseph McLoone allegedly stole almost $100,000  from his church and spent it on Grindr, boyfriends, and a beach house in Ocean City, New Jersey,

The now-former priest at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downingtown, Pa., opened a secret checking account in 2011, which he used to steal $98,405.50 in donations from parishioners and other church funds over the next seven years

Hypocrite No 3.  is Msgr. Tony Anatrella, a Vatican adviser and psychotherapist who has a long history of opposing homosexuality, positioning himself as an expert on matters of sex and homosexuality and authoring multiple books on the subject.  In 2005, he actually played a key role in the Vatican’s decision to ban gay men from the priesthood, writing an article for the Vatican’s newspaper.

However, this French Priest is about to go on trial for sexually assaulting several men simply he claimed to “heal” their homosexuality.

The Paris Archdiocese previously reprimanded Anatrella back in 2018 due to the allegations against him, preventing him from practicing therapy or hearing confession.   Their actions are hardly a surprise as the Church has such a history of protecting their own and ignoring the needs of the victims.  This time they included one who was a 14-year-old minor at the time the alleged abuse took place.
