queerguru have come across a wonderful gay couple who so desperately need us all to pitch in for them as soon as possible.
Oliver Genet and David De Oliviera are a hardworking couple who over the years have turned PASHA their gift store in Gustavia on St Barth as a real destination point for discerning tourists. During Hurricane Irma, they and their beloved bulldog Ivor lost EVERYTHING.
They are friends of friends of ours who have shared the fact that not only do they need all the basics just to live right now, but also beyond that as rebuilding their livelihoods will also depend on the return of tourists which may not happen for a considerable long time.
However, Oliver and David (and Igor) are not just survivors but fighters too. Being gay has made many of us much more resilient than some of our straight allies and we know they will succeed. But right now, they need some help getting through the first tough stages.
Two of their friends have set up a GOFUNDME page on their behalf which we are more than happy to endorse and encourage you to support. So before you write out that check to one of the major charities to anonymously spend or squander as they see fit, let’s help two guys from our own community who have lost everything, except each other.
