This summer Chicago is planning to go wild about Warhol. The Cleve Carney Museum of Art is collaborating with the Mcaninch Arts Center at the College of Dupage to host a major ANDY WARHOL EXHIBITION this June. It will feature more than 200 original works from Andy Warhol Portfolios; A Life in Pop plus some 200 works from the Bank of America Collection and also works from the College of DuPage Permanent Art Collection will include an original Warhol 1980 screen–printed portrait of Joseph Beuys as well as his iconic $
Also included: more than 150 original photographs by Warhol comprised of both black–and–white gelatin silver prints and color Polaroid prints featuring unidentified figures and celebrities alike. These photographs offer a rare and intimate glimpse into Warhol’s New York of the 1970s and 80s.
As well as the art on display there are also Interactive Elements Including a Historical Exhibit, Kids Pop Art Print Factory, Studio 54 Experience, Central Park–Inspired Outdoor Café and More. Plus a series of events including lectures by internationally renowned authors and Warhol experts, workshops, concerts and more will take place on–site throughout the exhibition’s run as well.
The exhibition and programming will be led by MAC Director Diana Martinez and Exhibition and CCMA Curator Justin Witte.
