The comedian, actress and nightclub performer KAYE BALLARD never really got the recognition or the parts that her enormous talent so deserved. However this deliciously funny lady was a true gay icon for all the wealth of her glorious performances including her turn with Eve Arden on the sitcom “The Mothers-In-Law,” seen on NBC from 1967 to 1969.
For Queerguru Miss Ballard who died this week at the grand old age of 93 will be particularly remembered for her wonderful cabaret acts with her whole catalogue of self-penned witty songs in an era when satire was still quite warm and fuzzy.
This then is our very favorite Kay Ballard ditty which always seemed like a plea from her heart.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival premiered this brand new documentary last year “Kaye Ballard : The Show Goes On'” which is yet to be released elsewhere. Now would be the perfect time
