The Fabulous Arts Foundation evolved from The Harvey Milk Festival and features a variety of attractions including live music, film, performing and visual artists, speakers, and vendors designed to engage a large and diverse audience. Even more important as it is in Sarasota on Florida’s West Coast, it shows that not all Floridian LGBTQ+ peeps live in the state’s two major queer hubs of Miami and Fort Lauderdale
This year they are launching their first-ever DRAG CULTURE FEST inside Sarasota’s wonderful Opera House (the perfect venue for some high drama!) The event’s opening act will be “Awaken Your Inner Drag” with community members performing for the first time. The hosts for the evening will be Adriana Sparkle and Aquariius is known for running all the things in the Tampa Bay Area.

The lineup will include not one BUT two Drag Kings. Spikey Van Dykey has been a leading Male Impersonator & Drag King entertainer for 16 years. Throughout the years, Spikey has discovered a way to combine his love for art, music, self-expression, and acting; through a character of his own creation. Spikey continues to perform solo and with his cast throughout the U.S. spikey_van_dykey’s profile picture. Plus the fairy Prince Octavian grew up trapped in a magical tower by an evil wizard until he gained access to Instagram, and there he learned how to use his fairy magic for GLAM instead of EVIL. He’s the sentimental magic boyfriend of your wet dreams and erotic nightmares, he’s the frog AFTER the kiss, he’s Le Prince Octavian.
