So its Election Day at last. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife in the Queerguru office and our stress levels couldn’t be higher. It’s the same with most of this country today, at least with the people who have enough sense to vote to get both our country and democracy ack on track.
We’ve turn all our TV’s off and are opting to listening to music all day. Our choice was an easy one to make, and we are playing non-stop Emeli Sandé starting with her “You Are Not Alone” from her 2019 album “Real.”
British/Zambian singer/songwriter Sandé who grew up in Scotland is a 4 time Brit Music Award Winner. With three very successful albums already under her belt she has just released some new music including “More Of You” that she recorded with Stonebwoy and Nana Rogues .
In 2011 Sandé sang at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in London. Her tender rendition of Abide With Me is perfect listening for today.
However it’s not just her music that singles Sande out . She has shown her support in raising money and awareness for the HIV/AIDS problem in the world. More specifically, she understands the seriousness of HIV/AIDS in her father’s home origin of Zambia which provides a deeper passion to support the cause. She is also one face of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer and more recently, Sandé has helped launch a programme of her own called “Community Clavinova“, a nationwide opportunity for organizations of many kinds to receive free Clavinovas through the partnership of Sandé and Yamah
In fact if you download or stream ‘Prayed Up’ that follows next, a donation will he made to AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
Here’s our final choice “I’ll Get There (The Other Side) and let’s hope tonight we all do. You can follow Sandé HERE
