Drag Queens Always Tell The Best Stories

There was a time when just being gay or lesbian would get you fired from your job as a teacher everywhere (and sadly in some cities and States that is still the case). However times they are a-changing at least in most urban settings such as in Toronto where kindergarten school teacher John Paul Kane aka Fay Slift goes even one step further and dons drag for his story time readings.

His events, where he partners with Kaleb Robertson aka Miss Fluffy Soufflé , are called Fay + Fluffy’s Story Time and they take place monthly in different locations across Toronto.  The concept behind them is that Kane hopes that kids  seize the opportunity to see that things that are different than the norm are not scary at all, and in fact can actually be so much fun.

Kane actually credits his students as the ones who have helped his drag persona evolve over the years as they have helped him choose music to perform to,  as well as influencing his outfits .
