When an invitation from Edison Farrow lands in Queerguru’s in box, we never hesitate to accept immediately. There are a fair amount of queer culture in this heaven we call Miami Beach, but most of it pales against a Farrow event. ‘Mr South Beach’ is after all the ultimate promoter/producer of the very best queer nightlife in town.
His party this Friday is actually a new art show featuring Venezuelan artist PAZ who has been based in the US for the past 20 years. He began creating artwork during his childhood and studied Art, Painting and Sculpture at Conservatorio Cultural del Zulia. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cecilio Acosta University in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Paz works with different mediums and defines his work as a free combination of abstract expressionism and what he calls “neo-cubism”. In most of his work, you can appreciate his Caribbean roots, an interpretation of feelings, strength and determination, using strong lines and vibrant colors inviting you to enter a synthesis of figuration and abstraction, of painting and drawing, and of balance and imbalance on his world of human figures and surrealistic landscapes. His work is now also taking off in Europe and he is already presenting his creations in Florence, Italy and is creating a platform to keep growing and presenting a “Paz” in every single corner.
