Regular followers of QUEERGURU will know that over the years, we have featured actor/writer/director ALEXIS GREGORY quite frequently. We make no excuse for this, as he is one of the leading lights of queer theatre in the UK, which we consider one of the best (IF NOT THE BEST) in the world right now. We tracked him down to his rehearsal studio, where he was putting the finishing touches to SMOKE, which he is about to undertake on a Nationwide Tour of the UK.

This solo show has a dark edge as a queer lens. Smoke confronts today’s obsession with self-documentation, drugs, paranoia, and living and dying in the digital age, when privacy seems an archaic concept, and it asks, ” Where do we draw the line?”  Gregory has linked up with You Are Loved, a non-profit queer organisation focused on community and peer-support-based LGBTQ+ suicide and drug misuse prevention by addressing the root causes, which will be holding a panel discussion after every performance.
