Filmmaker Amy Jenkins talks about ADAM’S APPLE an affectionate portrait of her trans son Adam

So many of us in the LGBTQ+ community have faced such disapproval and abandonment from our blood family when we ‘came out’ that we end up forming our own ‘chosen family.‘ It is therefore so very refreshing to learn about the families that support and embrace their queer children.

Amy Jenkins is one such parent who not only never wavered in her love for her transgender son, but also went one step further by sharing their story in an excellent new documentary, ADAM’S APPLE.

After two sold-out screenings at the Provincetown International Film Festival, she sat down to talk with Queerguru about both the film and her son.  We loved our conversation

PPS the movie was heading next to SF Frameline
