Angelo Madsen is an American filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist. and an educator. His latest film A BODY TO LIVE IN, is essentially a biographical documentary of the artist known as Fakir Mustafar, considered to be one of the founders of the modern primitive movement. However, Madsen uses Farkir’s art of pioneering work, promoting piercing as a base to explore the art and culture of queer body modification. It’s clear that he has a great deal of respect for this movement, which gained such popularity in the 90’s, and this compelling doc shows
