It’s been some 18th months since Queerguru first met Andrew Keates, a multi-award-winning Theatre Director, Acting Coach and Artist who had just created QUEER THEATRE. It’s been quite a manic ride since, thanks to his passion, ceaseless energy, and such conviction to make such a meaningful contribution to the LGBTQA+ community, and we wanted to catch up with his plans.

Keates set up Queer Theatre to tell authentic LGBTQIA+ stories without shame; to nurture LGBTQIA- theatre makers with pride, in the form of classes, specialist workshops, one-night-only events, and social/networking functions; to partner with individuals and organisations who will help us grow the visibility of queer stories in the mainstream as well as directly to the LGBTQIA+ community.
