Queerguru previews ‘IN THE CLOSET’ a hilarious and intimate docu-series about non-binary fashion and identity

We are really not sure why we made the connection BUT seeing the fabulously funny DAN LEVY‘s new TV program BIG MISTAKES reminded us how wonderfully quirky Canadian Comedy is. This thought was prompted by the arrival in Queerguru’s inbox with news from the National Film Board of Canada of their plans for Pride Month. They are introducing In the Closet, a hilarious and intimate docu-series about non-binary fashion and identity, presented by non-binary writer, filmmaker, and comedian Ajahnis Charley

His guests include iconic comedian Bren D’Souza, actor Amanda Cordner, improviser to the stars D.J. Mausner, creator Meg MacKay and Drag Queen extraordinaire Chelazon Leroux, and although they’re in a literal closet,  these non-binary artists are anything but closeted. And Charley brings out the best (humour) of each of them ….. he asks Chelazon Leroux “Are you a boy or a girl?”  and in a flash the answer is “I’m an icon.

Following the May 24 premiere screening of In the Closet at Inside Out, Toronto’s Queer Film Festival, Ajahnis Charley and their besties for an extra special, one-night only program of performances as part of In the Closet: A Very Queer Variety Show.

BUT panic not if you can’t make it to Toronto, the very good news is that the series premieres May 25 on the NFB’s YouTube channel.
