Queer Britain : Out On The Streets

In the third episode on the UK’s BBC new ground-breaking TV series Queer Britain presenter YouTuber and journalist Riyadh Khalaf explores the issues behind the statistic that one in four young homeless people in Britain identifies as LGBTQ+.

He meets rough sleeper Damian on the streets of Birmingham, follows John as he is re-housed into a temporary flat in Scotland, and speaks to Kristina about how she ended up without a home.

The whole TV series plans to get under the skin of queer culture and shines a light on the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community is a part of a whole program of special cultural events to mark the 50th Anniversary of the de-criminalization of homosexuality in the U.K.. 

This illuminating look at contemporary Britain would normally only be accessible to viewers in the UK,  but for once the BBC are posting the series on YouTube too for global viewing.
