In 1985, life threw a major curveball at LA actor MARK S KING that so many gay men were dreading back then. However, once the news sank in, King uncovered some inner strength that he never knew he had, and he decided to turn his life around after being diagnosed with HIV. He took the positive symbol that is attached to HUVS and used that to inspire him to influence his determination to live.

In those early days of the AIDS pandemic, being diagnosed was considered a death sentence, and the protease inhibitors that would change all that were some 11 years aways

So on the occasion of his 65th birthday, with his latest memoir about to be published, we were very eager to both celebrate and share his totally uplifting story. King has both an infectious humor and an overflowing passion to share his story to help others …. especially those already diagnosed with HIV.
