London’s UNDERBELLY FESTIVAL IS BACK and is taking over the whole of the West End’s Cavendish Square

After a brief hiatus London’s UNDERBELLY FESTIVAL is Back . And not in a quiet way.  Its taking over Cavendish Square in the West End from July – September.  They are putting up their famous Spiegeltent which  wil hosting world-class live entertainment from the best in circus, cabaret and comedy as well as children’s and family-friendly entertainment.

And most importantly some totally fab queer events such as DIZNEY IN DRAG : Once Upon A Parody: an X-rated pantomime following childhood favorite characters to discover sides of them you never knew existed.  PLUS Drag Queen Story Hour: a magical hour of storytelling engaging children’s creativity and love for reading hosted by published children’s author Aida H Dee The Storytime Drag Queen.  And of course Marcel Lucont’s Cabaret Fantastique: a feast of international cabaret including the finest performers from the world of cabaret, comedy, circus, poetry, magic and music, all held together with dry wit and a dry white.

The Queerguru team have also insisted they go to see the cycling Shakespearean collective who carry all of their set, props and costumes on the back of their bikes.  The Handlebards (3–4 August) will bring their sense of adventure and love of Shakespeare to the Speigeltent with their version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The festival will serve up a delicious range of street food traders, open-air bars, and plenty of space to enjoy the summer in London, with deckchairs and picnic seating throughout. The square will be free to enter all season long, with tickets to the Spiegeltent performances starting at £11.50!
