Jake Graf has fast become one of our friends who is tough to ignore. There doesn’t seem to be a single day go past when we do not come across this trans filmmaker and activist flashing his semi-naked body in yet another publication. When queerguru interviewed him earlier this year we dubbed him the Man of The Moment …. it seems that now only were we spot on, but that ‘moment’ is going to last quite sometime.
Fresh from the World Premiere of his latest movie ‘Dawn’ at London’s BFI Flare Festival last week, Jake has penned a piece for Gay Star News to mark the start of the celebrations for International Trans Day of Visibility on 31 March. Guess what? He’s shirtless again! He is at least honest to admit that aside from all his friends taking the piss and his mother being a bit shocked, he says that all this modeling makes him feel good.
This new portfolio by photographer Paul Grace is a collection of Jake’s trans friends, all of whom are proud to have helped educate people about trans issues and to have raised awareness that its not just one kind of person who can be sexy. They include Benjamin Melzer, a fitness model who became the first trans man to appear on the cover of the German edition of Men’s Health. A video of him talking about his childhood got 5million views and he has almost 50,000 Instagram followers.
