Filmmaker Dorin Max Hagay talks about his wonderful oddball comedy ‘SHE KEEPS ME YOUNG’

Filmmaker Dorin Max Hagay has a steady 9-5 job directing TV : and he most recently directed on season 4 of HACKS on HBOMax . However his first love is indie queer cinema most importantly the films of Todd Haynes, Fassbinder and Douglas Sirk. The latter is the influence for his debut feature film SHE KEEPS ME YOUNG, a wonderful oddball black comedy .
Its the story of Michelle, lost after her husband’s disappearance, as she navigates life with help from her friend Kelly and forms an unexpected bond with a high-schooler, Bridget, in a hip-hop class.
When the movie screened at Provincetown Film Festival, Hagay sat down to talk with QUEERGURU and shared his passion for both the film and queer cinema in general. Both he …. and the film …… are a sheer joy
