The Stonewall Library and Museum in Fort Lauderdale has been a center of excellence for the entire LGBTQA+ community since the 1970s. Even now, with a hostile State Government and the despicable and disastrous Orange Man in the White House, Florida’s Stonewall stands out as a beacon of hoPe and support for our community when we need it most.
Queerguru talks with Stonewall President + CEO ROBERT KESTEN (named to Out Magazine’s 31st annual Out 100 list in 2025) about a new exhibit, DEATH BY AIDS: ETERNITY THROUGH ART; a solo show of the stunning art of the late RALPH VONNER himself, a victim of the AIDS pandemic.
This remarkable body of his work is a beautiful tribute not just to him, but to all those others who lost their lives at the time too. We not only discussed Vonner’s remarkable legacy but also how, despite the severe bashing at the state and national level, our queer community can still find both time and strength to honor VONNER and his remarkable legacy, which so deserves to reach the widest queer audience possible
