The Glamorous Miss Hope Springs

Miss Hope Springs is like a breath of fresh air.  A decidedly old-fashioned drag performer and chanteuse who looks and sounds worlds apart from the frenetic contestants of Ru Paul’s hit TV Show, yet who has become the darling of London’s cabaret circuit since she started singing her original songs and telling her gentle off-key jokes back in 2012.

With her big blonde hair and wearing sequins that she claims she was wearing when she left the Pink Pelican Casino in Las Vegas back in 1972, and accompanied by her Hot Jazz Combo, she has her own very unique nightclub act that deftly showcases her remarkable talent.  Miss Hope Springs is definitely old school as she writes and sings all her own material in very her very inimitable style which reeks of old Hollywood glamour when stars were really stars.  And she peppers it all with some hilarious tales of her disastrous love life.

If you a Brit you make think that Miss Hope Springs looks a tad familiar to you, and that would be because her creator is Ty Jeffries whose father was the celebrated British film star Lionel Jeffries. Growing up in L.A. has obviously left his mark on Miss Springs.

Last April she did her first US Tour and is currently appearing in venues in and around London, but she has just announced that in April 2017 she will play the prestigious Wigmore Hall which is sort of big time for a cabaret performer.  Details of all performances at http://www.misshopesprings.com/. Meanwhile here is one of queerguru’s favorite clips of Miss Hope Springs doing what she does best.
