YOU ARE LOVED : a desperately needed new queer support system in the UK

The Orange Man in The White House is on a rampage to stop all funding for LGBTQ+ groups ….. particularly for Trans youth, which is creating a vast crater of emptiness, leaving queer people in need, desperate and deserted.  So it is heartening to hear of good news of the creation of a new support system on the other side of the Atlantic.

YOU ARE LOVED, founded last year in the UK with a vision to live in a world in which being LGBTQ+ does not make us more likely to die prematurely, from suicide or a drug-related death. A world in which stigma and discrimination are eradicated.

So they have created ASK BOBBY, a digital signposting directory to help LGBTQ+ people find community initiatives, social groups and mental health support that are right for their specific needs.  There are so many brilliant LGBTQ+ organisations, grassroots initiatives, and social groups right across the UK. But too often, people don’t know how or where to find them—especially when they’re struggling.  Ask Bobby focuses on both community and support. It includes well-established mental health charities and services, but also shines a light on smaller, local, and informal community-led spaces—places that often go unnoticed but play a vital role in people’s lives.

They’re building something all-inclusive and all-encompassing. A directory that recognises how vital community, connection, and belonging are to our wellbeing—and how deeply needed they are, especially in LGBTQ+ lives.

PS the free LGBTQ+ directory for community and support is named Ask Bobby in honour of the late Robin Windsor, who passed away suddenly in February 2024.

You can reach  them  on support@youare-loved.com or : info@youare-loved.com

Ask Bobby is here to gently say:  We see you. We’ve got you. You are not alone.
