LGBTQ activist, author, and AIDS historian Sarah Schulman is back to London for a 2-day to launch her latest book Let the Record Show: A Political History of ACT UP, New York (2020). It’s the result which is the result of more than 200 interviews conducted over 18 years and is a long-overdue reassessment- of the coalition’s inner workings, conflicts and achievements, and ultimate fracture.
Schulman’s book aims to reinstate women and people of color‘ back at the heart of history and reconfigure the way we tell history away from the ‘heroic individual’ towards the community.
