It may seem to some of you that the Arts and Culture Selection of QUEERGURU is somewhat obsessed with the devilishly handsome openly gay Brit actor Jonathan Bailey, but he does seem to keep making news . And who are we to ignore that.
Today Universal Pictures have just released two new teaser trailers of the highly anticipated movie version of the Tony Award winning musical WICKED. Although this fairy tale story is based around two women Glinda the Good and her stepsister Elphaba borh with green skin, it also stars a roguish prince Fiyero role that suits Jonathan to a tee.
The handsome prince is accused of pretending to be shallow and self -absorbed to which he declares is no pretense as he proud of being shallow and very deeply self-absorbed
This second teaser just released focuses on the ever-growing friendship between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), it combines clips from the movie, interviews with the stars, and a behind-the-scenes look at filming.
The film also known Wicked: Part One is the first of a two-part film adaptation of the stage musical of the same name by Stephen Schwartz . It also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, and Peter Dinklage in supporting roles. Directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman, its theatrical release in the United States is scheduled for November 22, 2024 (in time for Award Season)
