Three Films of Musical Geniuses about hit our Screens

 

 



There are three extremely different movies about musicians that are just about to hit our screens.  All very highly anticipated stories about three exceptional talents that from contrasting music genres that we cannot wait to view,

First up is PINK: ALL I KNOW SO FAR.  The award-winning singer embarks on her record-breaking 2019 “Beautiful Trauma” world tour and welcomes audiences to join her chosen family while trying to balance being a mom, a wife, a boss, and a performer. Mixing footage from the road, behind-the-scenes interviews, and personal material, director Michael Gracey (THE GREATEST SHOWMAN) gives audiences a glimpse behind the curtain of the circus that she calls life.

The documentary is being released on Amazon Prime on May 21st  

 

From Focus Features come THE SPARKS BROTHERS  which will be released in theaters on June 18, 202

It’s the story of how one rock band can be successful, underrated, hugely influential, and criminally overlooked all at the same time? Edgar Wright’s debut documentary THE SPARKS BROTHERS, which features commentary from celebrity fans Flea, Jane Wiedlin, Beck, Jack Antonoff, Jason Schwartzman, Neil Gaiman, and more, takes audiences on a musical odyssey through five weird and wonderful decades with brothers/bandmates Ron and Russell Mael celebrating the inspiring legacy of Sparks: your favorite band’s favorite band.

 

Last but far from least, we are finally going to get to see Jennifer Hudson play Aretha Franklin in RESPECT, which rumor has, may net her a 2nd Oscar.  The movie had the blessing of Franklin herself who was involved with the development up until her death on August 16, 2018.

The movie is directed by Tony Award winner Liesl Tommy from a screenplay by Tracey Scott Wilson, and the cast includes Forest WhitakerMarlon WayansAudra McDonald and Mary J. Blige.

The movie will open in  theaters on August 13, 2021
