For those Queerguru readers around the globe who still think that when it comes to sex the Brits are a very conservative lot, even prudish at times, then you may be shocked to hear that we have just flown back from London, having been at the inaugural DIRTY DYKES FILM NIGHT at the Rio Cinema in Dalston . To our sapphic knowledge, it is the very first of its kind and was so worth the 7-hour flight from the US,
This first-of-its-kind film night, dedicated exclusively to lesbian and bisexual dykes, including transfemme and transmasc dykes, and was a night of provocative cinema, stimulating discussion and an all-night dance party. There was an eclectic programme of eight short films in Screen One, while a feature-length film played on a loop in Screen Two. The screenings were followed by a Q&A with Berlin Porn Film Festival curator Manuela Kay, alongside filmmakers Max Disgrace and Estella Bathory.
