To mark the 30th anniversary of Alex Cox cult movie ‘SID & NANCY’ Studio Canal are releasing a newly restored version. This is the biopic of Sid Vicious the bassist of the seminal punk band The Sex Pistols who ended up being arrested for the murder of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen. Vicious was never convicted however as his died from a heroin overdose in jail in 1979 before his trial.
The movie was never a big box-office hit at the time for it did really launch the career of Gary Oldman for his stunning performance as Vicious
Sid & Nancy will be released in movie theaters on 5 August, and DVD/Blu-Ray on 29 August.
