Queerguru;s TOP PICKS of MUST-SEE PANTOS this Holiday Season

If you know anything at all about queer life in London. than you will know that THE (legendary) ROYAL VAUXHALL TAVERN is the epicenter of everything gay in the capital.  Queerguru’s Brit Editor assures us that if you have never met at least one potential Mr Right (or Mr Right Now), you are not a real queer Londoner.

It has a packed schedule 365 days per year but has still managed to squeeze in their own Panto for the holiday season.  Its from the team that brought us last year’s smash hit, Wolfed, plus the Offie-winning Tossed as well as Cracked, Pricked, Slipped, Rubbed and Goosed. This year they explore one of the most popular fairy tales of all, with their own twisted take on Beauty and the Beast.

Written by Paul Joseph (PopHorror) and Tim Benzie (Solve Along A Murder She Wrote) and directed by panto legend Tim McArthur (Eurovision Your Decision)Growled is the hilarious tale of life for Belle and her Prince once the classic story ends and they face the reality of ‘happy ever after’. This magical story is brought to life by a stunning cast, packed with hit songs and more jokes (and clocks) per minute than any other panto. Don’t miss out…… who knows you may make the ‘Prince’ of your dreams  lurking in thr Wings

Meanwhile, Growled’s director, the multi-talented Tim McArthur, is also directing and starring in Jack and The Beanstalk in The White Rock Theatre in Hastings (he told Queerguru he also goes skinny dipping in the ocean every day …hmm!)  The panto stars Richard Blackwood (Eastenders) as Jack on his magical journey to Cloudland as he battles to save his best friend, Daisy the Cow!  He is joined by another Eastenders star Clair Norris , plus Mark Two will be the lovable Dame.

When Queerguru caught up with McArthur (who is playing Fleshcreep …go figure), we were reminded what a size queen he is as he boasted they have the biggest Giant in Pantoland

Our final Panto Pick is the fifth anniversary edition of TuckShop’s all-drag pantomimes: SNOW WHITE which is running at the Emerald Theatre in the West End for a strictly limited season until Sunday 4 January 2026. With a cast that seems to have been lifted from Drag Race who will have you laughing along in this outrageous retelling of the fairest in the land like never before. Snow White must journey through the enchanted kingdom and battle the Wicked Queen with the help of her friends. Sounds quaint… It won’t be!

SNOW WHITE, the outrageous all-drag panto is Written by Kate Butch and Crudi Dench, with additional material by Eleanor Mason. Directed and Created by Christopher D. Clegg. Produced by TuckShop,
