Queerguru’s Dan Desjardins reviews Boy George & Culture Club at the HardRock Live in Hollywood, FLA

On February 18th I gladly filled in for our QueerGuru music editor (Allison Ananis) and made it to the Boy George & Culture Club (2026 Tour) show at the HardRock Live in Hollywood, Fla. This stop was part of a 15-date outing taking place in February/March which will be followed by a Las Vegas residency at the Venetian Theatre.

His band and the backup singers were amazing and included a reunion with two members from the original Culture Club (Mikey Craig and Roy Hay). I felt a very different vibe to the past hits as they had a much more rock feel to them instead of their original pop/new wave/electro sounds and you can hear the change in his voice as he sings in a much lower range since his debutante years. You weren’t just hearing the songs as done on the radio (OR Sirius these days). Unchanged was George’s costume sense of style and flair.

The tour includes fan favorites like “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me,” “Time (Clock of the Heart),” and “Church of the Poison Mind,” but also songs off George’s latest studio album ‘SE18’ which was released in August 2025. These songs have a reggae influence like “Eye & Eye”. Interestingly, while he interspersed older music and newer music throughout the show, he really mixed things up by including a reggae version of his hit “It’s a Miracle”.

He also did a song called “Faster” as a nod to the breakup presently going on between his talent manager Paul (PK) Kemsley and his wife Dorit which is playing out on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for those Housewives fans. PK is currently working on a biopic movie based on George’s life.

He also managed to squeeze in songs from his idol artists and musical influencers with David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” and Marc Bolan’s “The Children of the Revolution”. Of course, he closed the show with a finale of the hit song “Karma Chameleon”.

I was totally entertained by this show and would recommend you see it if it comes close to you! Seeing it at the Hardrock Live in Hollywood, Fla was great as that venue has no bad seats and the sound quality in that theater is amazing. If you haven’t been to a show there, you should really make the effort if you are in South Florida! (Check HERE for all the rest of the Tour )
