Queerguru has always maintained a belief that when push comes to shove, it will be gay men who will save our planet. Like (handsome) married couple Patrick Breshike and David Grieser, who have discovered a spectacular coral reef just some 500 yards from the sandy beach of Miami Beach (making it the ONLY reef in the world that is 600 yards from a gay Drag Bar).

Its the latest ‘evolution’ of Florida’s most unique fabulous playground in the sun, which never ceases to amaze and delight (says Queerguru’s editor who emigrated there from the UK almost 30 years ago to eventually fall in love and marry!)

Breshike and Grieser hooked up with filmmaker Alex Mitow to make the documentary NEON REEF which doesn’t just share the story of the reef’s discovery but also the journey the pair have undertaken since then to involve the community in safeguarding the Reef’s future, Neon Reef may not quite make it onto the list of one of the world’s best wonders, but its sure up there as a beautiful addition to Miami Beach and our planet.

Plus, seeing our pair of valiant explorers bike around South Beach in their Speedos is hardly tough on our eyes……..
