Word has reached Queerguru from The Two Brewers ….one of South London’s best Gay pubs …. that they are about to spice it up a little. Ever since the ubiquitous Drag Race hit our TV screens, entertainment in gay venues has become way too reliant on drag acts …..sadly, some of it is of very questionable quality! Kudos then tio Andrew Keates, who is about to produce the very first Queer Theatre Variety Night at the Two Brewers this Friday 7 November 2025
He promises a night of authentic queer variety: Musical theatre sung like it matters, stand-up that tells it honestly, live music straight from the chest, and spoken word that hits hard. And yes, panic not, it will include some drag that refuses to behave. In total, you can expect a queer, messy spectrum of queer performances. HERE ARE A FEW OF THE PERFORMERS YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE:
If you don’t think there was such a thing as an English Cowboy , then you need to meet PEARL DOES COWBOY, the UK’s boldest queer country singer, songwriter, serving up cowboy realness with added sparkle. And lets face it he is ‘hardly hard on the eyes too’. P.S. He is originally from Canada!
Canadian RYAN HINDS is a theatre performer, director, & cabaret artist….. this multi-talented man has even done Shakespeare: TONIGHT, however he is the Host and MC
Also from across the Atlantic …LA to be precise…is JUSTIN ELIZABETH SAYRE a quick-witted talented performer and writer (he wrote Mean Girls) and very warm, funny man who we had the joy of interviewing way back when….
The last time we saw playwright, performer and trans twink Freddie Haberfellner he was starring in F–kboy is a one-person play exploring gender dysphoria, bodily autonomy, and celebrity crushes from a non-binary perspective at the Old Red Lion.
BRAN ISABELLA singer / songwriter and lyricist based in London: From the melancholy of Lana Del Rey to Lady Gaga’s electronic fury, Bran’s music is channeling the spectrum of emotions humans may feel
