We’re packing our bags and heading to Sitges, the gay mecca in Spain that’s a short car ride from Barcelona. This time we are not going for the boys, or for the beach, or for their fab annual Bear Week ..…we are going to see Art. No really!
If you are a regular Queerguru reader, you may recall that we have often shared our enthusiasm for London-based German artist Georg Meyer-Wiel, who has had a couple of extremely successful solo shows in Provincetown in the past (check out here).
The new show at Bnude Gallery in Sitges is TRAVELOGUE, which brings together over 50 figurative drawings rendered on mid-century Catalan ephemera. Set against the backdrop of the 1950s, the works place contemporary portraits of men in dialogue with historical narratives, inviting audiences to reconsider today’s body culture and ideals of masculinity.
