There are full reviews of all our top picks ….. several of which went on to win Awards … such as Anne Fontaine’s The Innocents which received HBO Audience Award/Best Narrative Feature.
Plus Political Animals : the joint Winner of HBO Audience Award/Best Documentary Feature which told the uplifting tale of four courageous openly gay female members of the California Legislature whose pioneer work laid the foundations for many of the equal rights that our community today.
One of the many interviews we had at The Sage Lounge and Inn was with Remy Auberjonois the co-writer and director of Blood Stripe and the winner of The John Schlesinger Award, presented to a first time feature filmmaker (narrative). We talked about his compelling movie and also working with family ….. his co-writer and star was his wife Kate Nowlin, and his father veteran Hollywood actor Rene Auberjonois was in the movie too.
