The actual parade for Carnival Week here in Provincetown is still a few days away when the streets will be jammed packed with drag queens of all shapes and sizes (what is the collective noun for drag queens??) Anyway the Queerguru Team have already spotted one of our favorites.
“She’ is the star of Laura Plad’s Debut Show simply called WIG at the DOZEN STUDIO ….. probably the first Drag Gallery Show the Town has ever seen. Laura is a multimedia artist from Boston who excels in creating campy, glamorous, and hand-embellished garments and accessories. Passionate about surface design and making repeat patterns that are bold, playful, and highly detailed : her very highly collectable ‘wigs’ are a joy to behold
She told QUEERGURU that when she’s not in the studio, she attends local drag shows and queer events where she finds her inspiration. And just one of Laura’s numerous accomplishments is that many of her custom made costumes and accessories have been worn on multiple seasons of @rupaulsdragrace by several different drag queen contestants
@dozen.studio.gallery is located at 142 Commercial Street in
Provincetown, MA. and the show runs until August 27th
