Life can be so bitterly unfair at times. Queerguru is based in the richest country in the world, which has given the keys to our Money to an Orange convicted felon. We actually pay him $400,000 (not) to do his job, but meanwhile he has made over $2.2 billion to $2.4 billion during the first year of his second term in 2025 with all his scams and schemes. And we dread to think how much more his close billionaire buddies had grabbed for themselves.
However, across the ocean, there is a country that has an openly gay Leader (with no criminal convictions or connections to Epstein’s pedophile ring) who is actually committed to spending money to help people. Recently, when Dutch PM Rob Jetten helped open the 2026 WorldPride Human Rights Conference in Amsterdam, a three-day gathering focused on connecting and inspiring people working for equal rights, he made a rather stunning announcement
Jetten committed his government to an initiative that will invest €7.5 million per year for the next three years to improve safety for the country’s LGBTQIA+ community.
The money will support several different efforts. One part of the initiative will create an alliance of organizations committed to improving LGBTQIA+ safety in the workplace. Another will fund a public information campaign designed to challenge discrimination and disinformation. The government will also fund Purple Friday, an annual Dutch event where students and teachers wear purple to show solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people.
The message from PM Jetten was a promise that this year’s WorldPride message is not only about being visible. It is about making people safer when the flags come down. Plus protection from discrimination; support for young people; and turning those good ideas into government funding rather than leaving them as Pride slogans.
P.S. KLM The National Airline of the Netherlands, has advised us they run direct flights daily from 11 cities in the US. AND it is easy to buy a one-way ticket… |
