For those of us lucky enough to be able to call Miami Beach our home, we tend to think that every day living in this tropical paradise we are proud to be gay and here. Nevertheless 8 years ago we started having an official Gay Pride Day … and as it can be as hot a hell here in June when most Prides are, we hold ours in April …. besides the fact that we just love being first. The few hundred LGBT people that turned out for our first Parade has now turned into thousands and thousands and it is one of the most joyous days in our very packed calendars here.
queerguru was down there clutching a glass of bubbly in one hand and boyfriend’s hand in another. and these are just a few of the sights we managed to capture. B.T.W. the Parade started eight hours ago, but as I sit at home writing this I can hear the party in full swing with the music and the adrenalin still pumping on the Beach all against a backdrop of fireworks that have just lit up the night sky
