Sometimes queerguru can sort of predict the future. We knew back in March when we wrote about Dan Savage’s Hump! Film Festival that was about to tour the U.S. that our friends at O Cinema, Miami’s cutting edge art house would insist on playing host for a week, and they have from September 16th. Hump! is after all is the ONLY public place to see creative, homegrown porn.
The Festival all started a decade again when Savage, a highly successful journalist, author, TV pundit and radio broadcaster, he had an unconventional idea in his column Savage Love to ask people to send him homemade dirty movies, and surprisingly, they did. Before you could say ‘Linda Lovelace’, his mailbox was brimming with films so hot, so hilarious, and diverse that he felt compelled to share them with the world, and so Hump! was born.
Kareem Tabsch O Cinema’s Co Director told us ‘Hump! is a wonderful celebration, through film, of sex and sexuality that promotes sex positive imagery while representing all body types, gender identities, fetishes and orientations. How could you not love something called Hump!’

P.S. We’ve been privy to seeing a preview of this year’s Festival Tour and were shocked at how fresh and funny ….. and downright sexy it was ….. and Savage is right, there were times we really did have to cover our eyes.
