Masterworks : Unpacking Fashion @ Met

The new exhibition that opened at NY’s Met Museum last month allows a peek into inside the museum’s extensive fashion archives that they have amassed over its seven decade history.  Located in the Anna Wintour Costume Center, the exhibit curated by Andrew Bolton features 60 iconic pieces which include new acquisitions that have never been shown before.

The exhibit is built to look like the Institute just unpacked, so it features shipping crates and other packing materials alongside the masterworks which includes items like a 60’s era Cristobal Balenciaga gown to a modern day dress from John Galliano for Maison Margiela, and it also encompasses menswear and accessories pieces too.
