Like most of QUEERGURU’s (wonderfully talented) team, Justin David, one of our newest newbie writers, wears many hats. (Probably many dresses too, but that’s a story for another time) Justin is one half of INKANDESCENT, a publishing venture with a commitment to ideas, subjects, and voices underrepresented by mainstream publishing. He and partner Nathan Evans hope to discover and celebrate original, diverse, and transgressive literature and art, to challenge the status quo.
They are extremely good at what they do, as witnessed this weekend, when one of the latest books they have piblsiked On the Boardwalk by Martin Sherman, with a foreword by Sir Ian McKellen .has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2026 LAMBDA Awards Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious LGBTQ+ literary prizes in the United States, the “Lammys” celebrate the very best in queer writing—and so it is an honour to be among five outstanding titles in the Gay Memoir / Biography category.
P.S. Meanwhile, we should mention that another of Justin’s hats (!) is that he is also an acclaimed photographer. He has been creating content for clients, including Attitude magazine, for over two decades. So if you need a couture picture to set alight your networks, or a dazzling design to shine a light on new ones, he could be your man.
